If my opponent is good and clears of a break then that's that but all shots typically go where there supposed to. If I have a couple million coins and play matches that are 10k then it's pretty even. 8 ball pool truly is a gamble and frustrates absolutely everybody that plays it, i just hope its all fair and nothing is rigged. That being said, the most likely factor is that of LUCK, Having established that the worst players win 4/10 games and the best players win 6/10, it goes to show that skill can only make a slight difference - that of 20% in terms of win percentage, and luck is the force that pulls everybody in towards that 40-60% zone. This is the most common way that i end up losing, because after that my opponent can just clear up all his balls unobstructed and pop the black in. I find what happens almost too often (well over 50% of the time NO JOKE) is that after potting my second last coloured ball, the path between the cue ball and my last ball is obstructed - even if i only hit my ball, the white will keep on rolling and rolling until it gets into a position where the path is obstructed, or if some other of my opponents balls were disturbed in the potting of my second last coloured ball, they would just always get in the way, going faster and further than they ought to as if being controlled just in order to block my next shot. So is it luck which evens everybody out? It PROBABLY is, however it could well also be rigged. It goes to show that skill is somewhat irrelevant, if the people who suck can still win basically as much as the people who are the best in the world.

The relative difference in terms of results over time is absolutely minimal between the worst and best, and the rest pretty much end up winning 5/10 matches.

There is NO EXCUSE for missing a ball that has no obstructions between it and the pocket, or between the cue ball and your ball, tilt method/any other method for long pots are all fair game. They make unforced errors all of the time which in my opinion in a game like 8 ball pool is just unacceptable if you expect to do well and win. The opponents that i play with percentages lower than 50% are clearly a lot LOT worse than even those in between 50 and 55%. HOWEVER, after 1000+ games there MAY be more to this 'luck' than meets the eye. If you think about it, the game is PRIMARILY all about LUCK and how the balls lie on the table. Here's an overview of how I feel about the game: I check every opponents win percentage before starting out, and I'd estimate 80% of all players fall between around a 40-55% win percentage, then the others are either lower (rare), or in between around 55%-60% (good players starting out will have percentages up to 80%, but after 100 games it will come back down). (Obviously there will be tons of people saying "mine is way higher what are you talking about", but I can only go off of my own game experience). Having played 1,353 games my win % is currently at 59.5, and I can honestly say out of those 1,353 games, no more than 40 opponents have had a higher win percentage than me - i haven't played someone with a higher percentage for at least 2 months. I don't really know if the game is rigged but i honestly wouldn't be surprised. Violation of these rules can result in a warning, suspension, or a permanent ban.
